Dance and Tombourine

Joyful Expressions is the tambourine and dance ministry of Victory Christian Fellowship international . In Judges chapter four, Deborah prophesied to Barak that God would give him victory over his enemies. Through prophetic tambourine and dance, the Joyful Expressions team visually ministers a prophetic Word of the Lord, proclaiming the victory of God's people. In this form of worship, the arts are reclaimed for the glory of the Kingdom of God.

Come join us in worship at Victory Fellowship  and experience the dramatic and awesome power of God. Instruction manuals and videos are available to those wishing to learn more about incorporating this ministry in worship today.

Scripture tells us that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Cor. 3:17). God also tells us that He would restore the tabernacle of David and the worship therein (Acts 15:16). What He meant by rebuilding the tabernacle is that you and I would become sons, daughters, and priests of the Most High. We would become His dwelling place. We could now come boldly into the throne room of God and His glory would dwell in us. When He refers to David, He is referring to David’s heart of worship and reverence for the presence of God. David danced before God with all his might (2 Sam. 6:14). His heart cried out to God:

  • Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. (Ps. 149:3)
  • Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. (Ps. 150:4)
  • We find numerous other instances all through Scripture where God’s people danced and played tambourines (timbrels) and other instruments in reverence, praise, worship and honor of Him:

  • And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; … (Exodus 15:20-21)
  • And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? Did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands? (1 Samuel 21:11)
  • Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands? (1 Samuel 29:5)
  • They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary. The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels. Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel. (Psalms 68:24-26)
  • And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. (1 Chronicles 13:8)
