Sponsor a child … When you sponsor a child, you are helping feed, cloth, educate and provide shelter for these wonderful children who are learning about the love of Jesus Christ for them in their troubled world. Your funds do not go to a ministry to assist with administration costs or numerous overhead fees. Instead, every penny goes straight to the orphanage that houses these children. VOWS has direct contact with and has ministered to the people who oversee this orphanage. When you sponsor a child, you will receive newsletters updating you on the children and what God is doing in their area. She was abandoned in the hospital at birth. Her mother was also abandoned and they lived in the Zau de Campie orphanage. Her grandparents are very poor and they lived in a very small house. She has 3 brothers and 1 sister. Only her sister lives with her mother. She came to the Dove House when she was 1 month old. This year she will go to school. She is a Gypsy child. She likes to make puzzles, computer games, and paint. She likes to sing Christian songs with the other children. This child speaks Hungarian and Romanian and is learning English and French.

Age: 12 Birthday: July 13, 1994
She was abandoned at birth and lived in a maternity hospital with other abandoned children. She lived in the hospital in a crib for 5 years except for one month when she returned to her biological family. She was neglected and almost died. She has residual effects from the trauma. Then she moved to a private, Christian orphanage In Romania. She is a Hungarian Gypsy. She speaks Hungarian and Romanian and a little English. She is learning English and French. She goes to a Romanian school, which is unusual for a Hungarian. She is doing well in school. She wants to be a teacher, doctor or lawyer "to help the children". She loves dancing, taking care of younger children, playing in the snow, swimming, playing outdoors. She wants to learn to play the violin. She loves to go to church and learn about the Lord. She is drawn to pray for other children who have needs.

She was abandoned at birth in a hospital in Sangeorgiu de Padure. She was 5 months old when she came to Dove House. She is a very sensitive child. She likes ballet, painting and playing with her dolls and would like to become a ballerina. She is a Gypsy child also. We know nothing about her parents or family. This child speaks Hungarian and Romanian and is learning English and French.

Age: 14 Birthday: March 12, 1993
He was abandoned at birth and he lived 7 years in the hospital in Sangeorgiu de Padure. He is a Gypsy child and he came to the Dove House when he was 7 years old. He missed kindergarten. Now, he is in the 7th grade at school. He would like to become a karate instructor or a carpenter. He likes to play basketball, ping-pong and computer games. He goes to Sunday school every week and loves to share Bible stories with the other children. This child speaks Hungarian and Romanian and is learning English and French.

She has a brother, Remus. She was abandoned in the hospital at birth. She came to the Dove House when she was almost 5 years old. She came from a Gypsy family. She is in the 5th grade at school and she wants to become a veterinary surgeon. She loves animals and loves to take care of them. She gives her food pack to the first dog on the street she meets. She also likes to sing and to help our cook in the kitchen. At the church, she is helping the pastor’s daughter to choose and sing the songs for the children. This child speaks Hungarian and Romanian and is learning English and French.

He has a sister, Eva. He was abandoned in the hospital. He came to the Dove House when he was 2 years old. He had problems with his stomach from not eating proper food. He is recovering now. He is a very happy child. He likes cartoons and to play ball. He is in kindergarten and has learned a lot of songs and poems. This child speaks Hungarian and Romanian and is learning English and French.

He was abandoned in the hospital in Sangeorgiu de Padure. He came to the Dove House when he was 8 months old. He is a Gypsy child. He likes to ride bicycles, do puzzles, and build things. He is a smart boy and he likes to do new things. He is in the first grade at school. We know little about his family, except that he had 13 brothers. He likes to go to the church with the children. He wants to become a policeman. This child speaks Hungarian and Romanian and is learning English and French.

She is a Romanian child. She has lived at the Dove House for almost 6 years. For two years she was in a hospital in Tg. Mures. Her mother died because of cancer and she lived with her grandparents. There she ally drank some liquid acid and she has had to suffer numerous surgeries. The child protection agency refused to give her back to the family (to the grandparents) because she needed special care. So, we decided to help her. She is doing well now. She is in 3rd grade at school. She would like to become a teacher. She loves to go to the church with the other children. This child speaks Hungarian and Romanian and is learning English and French. Name: Matei, Tibor
Age: 19 Birthday: August 30, 1988
He is in the last grade at high school. His brothers are abandoned too. He came to the Dove House when he was 15 years old. He lived in a big orphanage in Tg. Mures until this age. He had a very unhappy life before he came to the Dove House. They used to sleep 20 - 25 boys in the same bedroom and at 7 p.m. the door was locked until the morning. To receive extra food he had to work in the kitchen and help the cook. This was the worst boy's orphanage from Mures county. He still helps our cook in the kitchen but not to receive extra food. He wants to learn how to cook. He would like so much to become a TV reporter. He watches the news everyday and he is taking notice. If I ask him what event was on TV last week he knows. His teacher in Tg. Mures took him to visit a TV and radio station. He still has his toys he had since he was a baby. This child speaks Hungarian and Romanian and is learning English and French.
