Kingdom of God and Politics Psalms 24:1 The earth is the Lord's and all it contains; The world, and those who dwell in it. Psalms 89:11 The heavens are Thine, the earth also is Thine; The world and all it contains, Thous hast founded them. Jeremiah 10:7 Who would not fear thee, O King of the nations? Rev. 15:36 Thous King of the nations Psalms 8:5-8 man a little lower than God, and to rule over the works of Thy hands Psalms 22:28 The kingdom is the Lord's, and He rules over the nations Genesis 1:26-28 Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule Matt. 3:2 Kingdom of heaven at hand; 4:17 Kingdom of heaven at hand; 10:7 Kingdom of heaven at hand; 2:28 Kingdom of God has come; 4:42 Kingdom of God given to other nation Mark 1:15 Kingdom of God at hand Luke 21:31 Kingdom of God at hand Luke 9:27 But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Kingdom of God (Matt 16:28) Matt 13:30, 38
The beginning of why the kingdom of God and politics can walk hand in hand is how the kingdom spreads over the earth. The kingdom is not limited to the church, but is in the earth, nations, people, music, culture, work. In all things and people.
Since Jesus came to earth and ascended back into heaven, two things have continued to happen. First, the kingdom of God continues to grow. And secondly, we were not and haven't been taken out of the world.
In verses 30 and 38 of Matthew 13, the seeds are the sons of the kingdom and were not taken out of the world but were left to grow and spread the kingdom (John 17:14-16). And the tares are the sons of the evil one. The tares are not to be taken out either, but are allowed to grow. The difference is the wheat produces fruit of the kingdom and the tares do not.
From the fall of satan there has been a state of war going on between satan's newly established kingdom and the kingdom of God. Satan invades all parts of the earth, government, family, work, etc. But God is confronting satan with every move he makes. God does not give him a free hand. From the garden until today (Gen 3, Job1), God's plan was to deal with him. From the beginning, God had a plan. Jesus' coming was God's plan to deal with satan and sin, and restore man. When satan got Jesus on the cross he thought that he had won, but he only sealed his own end by the blood Jesus gave freely at the cross.
