History of Victory Christian Fellowship International
and its Foundational Principles

Established 2001
Pastor's Marvin and Angie had served as Youth Ministers at a Little Rock church for over 12 years. The leadership of that church sent them to North Little Rock to plant VCFI as an autonomous church. Prior to starting the church Pastor Sergio de Hoyes of Morelos, MX came to North Little Rock. Knowing nothing of what God was telling Pastor Marvin concerning planting a church, Pastor Sergio stepped off the airplane and told Pastor Marvin, "God says to start the church." Another minister in the city, whom Pastor had not seen since they were in High School together, called Pastor Marvin and said God told him to call me concerning starting the church. A few weeks later Brother Dean Goldsby passed away. While in Mardel Bookstore a young cashier asked Pastor Marvin if he believed in prophecy. He then began to speak concerning the planting of the church. The first service for VCFI began on Superbowl Sunday in the home of Marvin and Angie. Those in attendance were Pastor Marvin, Angie and their children, Jordan Stephen, Jim Reeder, ReChell Barham and their children, Ron and Angela Montgomery and thier children, Charlie Henderson, Shawn Simmons, Tony Franklin, Johnny and Carolyn Barham. The church began to increase and was relocated the second year to 4416 MacArthur Drive.

Providing ministry through many aspects of the vision. Three main foundational principles upon which VCFI builds are:

EDUCATIONAL - "Train up a child in the way they should go and from that way they will not depart." God told Moses to write His precepts and principles upon the minds and hearts of the children. The Apostle Paul stated that we fight not against flesh and blood but against wickedness, spirits, and principalities. We are in the battle for the minds of men where two worldviews are competing. As Christians we can no longer continue to think like the Egyptians. Our minds must be transformed by the Word of God. We have been called to define our culture through Kingdom principles.

PROPHETIC - A church that refuses God's prophets to speak deny God Himself. The prophets were and still are a vital part of the Five-Fold ministry in the Body of Christ. When the church denied the prophets and silenced the voice the people themselves no longer knew how to hear His voice. God is raising up not just prophets but a prophetic people who know, hear, and discern His voice in a world that is crying out for Truth.

GENERATIONAL - What good is any vision, any accomplishment, any Kingdom built if the very foundational precept and principles have not been passed from generation to generation. The children of Israel with Moses saw the miracles of God, the Joshua generation took the promised land, but the third generation returned to bondage because something was not passed on to them.
